The polarization independent optical circulator is a 3-port non-reciprocal device that allows the light to travel in only one direction.
Lightwave is transmitted from port 1 to port 2 with minimal loss, and from port 2 to port 3 with minimal loss. However, light transmission is blocked from port 2 to port 1, and blocked from port 3 to port 1 or port 2.
